I forbindelse med udstillingen ”Direkte Demokrati - Kom! Lad os forestille os det, der endnu ikke er sket”, udstiller Louise Vind Nielsen en videoperformance i vinduet i Rum 46 - Studsgade i Århus, der ved at dissekere et symbol på selve demokratiet, er med til at sætte spørgsmålstegn ved det nuværende demokrati, som velfungerende, og som det endelige og det ”rigtige”.
This video performance by Louise Vind Nielsen was shown at the group exhibition "Direct Democracy - Let's imagine what hasn't yet come true" at Rum 46 Århus Denmark. By dissecting a voting booth symbolizing present Danish democracy, this video questions today's democracy as being well-functioning and as being the right and final form.

Baggrund
For at kunne dissekere demokratiet, må man forestille sig det, som en organisme. Ikke en tung institution, et symbol eller et begreb. Men en organisme bestående af levende væv. Eller rettere en døende eller død organisme. For når man dissekerer en organisme, plejer den at være nylig død. Man dissekerer for at kunne finde ind til kernen af organismen og for at forstå dens adfærd, udvikling og tilblivelse, og mulige måder at behandle mod sygdomme.
Background
Before you can dissect democracy you have to imagine it as some kind of organism. Not as an institution, a symbol or a concept, but as an organism of living tissue. Or perhaps a dying or diseased organism. Normally, when you dissect an organism, it has recently died. The reason you dissect something is to get to the core of the organism, to understand it's behaviour, evolution and origin, and ways to treat possible diseases.
Konkret
Videoen er optaget i Rum 46's lokaler og udstilles i et, af de store vinduer, så man ude fra gaden får en illusion om at handlingen udføres i rummet. "Resterne" af handlingen er installeret i rummet, nøjagtigt som de blev efterladt, som en abstract komposition på gulvet.
Concrete
The video is recorded inside the room at Rum 46 and is exhibited in one of the large windows. This could give the illlusion that the action takes place in the space. The "leftovers" are installed in the space exactly as they were left, forming an abstract composition.
